1. To attract zoo visitors, zoo authority announces 20% discount on every ticket which costs 25p. For this reason, sale of ticket increases by 28%. Find the percentage of increase in the number of visitors?

a) 40%

Solution:
Sale= no. of tickets sold (t) × price of each ticket
Previous sale = t ×.25
=> t = 4 × Previous sale
New sale = 1.28 Previous sale =new t×.20

=> new t= 1.28 Previous sale × 5 = 6.4

Now, % increase in no. of customers = (new t - t)/t = (6.4-.4)/.4= 24/40 = 60%
