Recruitment for the posts of JRF and SRF in SKUAST, Jammu

I) Jobs for the posts of Senior Research Fellow in SKUAST Jammu
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for contractual position under ICAR funded extramural research project “Impact Evaluation of Integrated Pest Management Technologiesfunded by ICAR under ICAR extramural projects in the Division of Agril. Extension Education, as detailed below

Recruitment for the post of JRF and SRF in SKUAST, Jammu

No. of Positions: Four
Position: Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
One for Kashmir (with working knowledge of Kashmiri)
One for Punjab (with working knowledge of Punjabi)
One for Jammu (with working knowledge of Dogri)
One for Headquarter (having computer proficiency)

Last Date: 11th May, 2016

Essential Qualification:
Masters degree in Extension Education/ Agri. Economics/ Entomology/Plant Pathology with atleast 60% marks

General Terms and condiations:
-The position is purely contractual to be filled for the year 2016-17.
-The university reserves the right to fill or not to fill the positions, depending on the qualifications/ credentials of the candidates
-The services of the incumbent shall stand terminated automatically on expiry of the period of the project with no claim of absorption against any temporary /regular post in the university
-The candidates are expected to have fair working know ledge of computer applications preferably SPSS
-Emolument: Rs 25000/-PM + HRA as per approved conditions
-A fair knowledge of local languages of working area


Duties and responsibilities:
-The SRF will have to collect the data from the selected farmers of Kashmir (Apple and Rice). Jammu (Vegetable & Rice) and Punjab(Cotton & Rice)
-He/ She is also supposed to enter the data in SPSS software for tabulation and analysis

Duties and Responsibilities
Conducting respective vegetable crop experiments in the field, raising off-season crop in hills (if required), molecular breeding (crossing, phenotyping and genotyping of plant populations), maintenance of germplasm, the analysis of data, preparing reports for presentation at appropriate scientific platforms and performing other duties related to the project as assigned by PI from time to time for successful implementation of the projects.

Terms and Conditions for projects are as under:
-The positions are purely temporary to be filled for a period of one financial year.
-The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill the positions, depending on the qualifications/ credentials of the candidates applied etc.
-The services of the incumbent shall stand terminated automatically on expiry of the period of the project with no claim of absorption against any temporary/regular post in the University.
-The appointee can be terminated at any time by University without assigning any reason thereof.
